Wasps redeveloped and opened The Briggait as a cultural hub in 2009, following its closure as the city’s fish market in the 1970s and a handful of temporary uses.
The Briggait offers the following to creative of all kinds and the general public:
staffed reception Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (excluding Bank Holidays)
45 artist studios
24 offices for cultural organisations or creative businesses
the Clydeside Halls, encompassing the largest complex of Victorian-era halls in Scotland; 1873 Hall, 1889 Hall and 1904 Hall
two exhibition spaces that face out onto Bridgegate
The Briggait is fully accessible with designated entrance, lift, and bathroom facilities, except for first floor studios on the Bridgegate elevation of the building
