Alice Prentice, the founder of Isle of Riso, has had a studio at Inverness Creative Academy since 2021.

‘Being based at Inverness Creative Academy has given my practice stability, security and a recognised home. My studio is a practical, welcoming space where I print and work day to day, and the ability to regularly hire the workshop spaces within the building has been invaluable. It’s made it possible to host workshops, social events and collaborative activity consistently, without having to look elsewhere, and has been key to sustaining Isle of Riso over time.

Alongside this, the wider ecosystem of the building adds real value. Working alongside other tenants creates a supportive environment where informal skill-sharing happens naturally, and where creative practice feels visible and part of a shared culture. Being part of Inverness Creative Academy has made it much easier to build relationships locally and to keep creative activity rooted in the Highlands, with open studios and market weekends helping people to find us, or discover us for the first time.’
